Our story started in 2006, when we purchased some Amate paintings from an Otomí Indian in Guadalajara, Mexico, and sold them at a school fayre and markets in Bristol, UK. They were hugely popular so, we started importing other things too. Before we knew it we had opened a small shop in Clifton Village called Otomí - named after the Indian tribe that gave us our first products.
Thanks to the high demand for authentic Mexican products, real hard work and the support of fantastic customers and friends, we have evolved from small-market retailers to wholesale suppliers. Never forgetting our roots and emphasizing on quality and service, our small business still serves to retail customers in Clifton Village and supply from our depot just outside the city.
We were pioneers for Mexican street food in the UK and still hold our true belief in authentic, delicious, healthy and affordable culinary experiences when we do pop-up restaurants too. Passion drives us forward to bring food, crafts, tiles, drinks, bathroom suites, hammocks, kitchenware and anything that we believe will bring happiness to your eyes and palate.
We are still a small business and we want to keep it that way to preserve quality. As one half of our outfit is Mexican we have the perfect opportunity to source our goods easily and our hope is that we have recreated a little piece of Mexico in the UK. We want your experience with us to be unique and hopefully nostalgic.
Please do feel free to come into the shop in Bristol for an astonishing array of colour, aromas and a chat... even in Spanish. Feel free to contact us if you would like to have an appointment to visit our warehouse.
